All I Need! | Deanna George

S~  The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples made my human hands. Acts 17:24 (NIV)

O~ God does not live in temples built by man, but in heaven and is Lord over all. You are Lord over me, my circumstances, my fears, and my hopes and dreams.

A~ I love that he is my creator, my help, my redeemer, and my Savior. What I don’t like is that I don’t allow him to be all those things all the time. I find at times that I want so badly a word of encouragement or acknowledgement when an important task is coming up. I feel disappointed every time it doesn’t come unless I remind them. I keep asking myself, “When are you going to learn Deanna?” When am I going to learn that my friends are not my source of encouragement, my source of belonging, or my source of acceptance? Obviously it going to take more times then I can count! BUT what is incredible is that God is always faithful to point out that he is more than enough and that I need to stop putting so much credence to humans on earth.

P~ Lord Jesus, thank you for being my Lord and Savior. I’m sorry I forget that you are all I need to feel loved and accepted. You have been with me every step of the way for the last 5 1/2 months, and you were very present yesterday as you relaxed my shoulders, calmed my mind, and provided peace even as I wanted to be so angry and frustrated over so many things this past week. I can only be excited about what my future hold with you as my guide. Please continue to remind me that you are enough for me!

You Give Me Life | Luisa Penaherrera

S~ He himself gives life and breath to everything, and he satisfies every need there is.  For in him, we live and move and exist.  Acts 17:25b, 28a (NLT)

O~ Any need I have, God is able to satisfy, he gives me life.

A~ I will trust you and expect that you are taking care of me, and I will bring my needs to you.

P~ Father, forgive me for thinking, “I got this.”  You give me life and I need you.  I can’t do life without you.

Growing Through Seeking | Michelle Myers

S~ God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him, though he is not far from each one of us.  Acts 17:27 (NIV)

O~ God wants to have a relationship with me.  If there is distance in my relationship with Him, it is because I have distanced myself from Him.

A~ Before I could even seek You or pursue a relationship with You, I needed to realize how much I needed You.  I invested a lot of time, money, and energy into things that never fulfilled me or helped me the way that You have.

The seeking has helped build patience, endurance, and faith.  You are not a genie, who has instantly granted all my wishes.  Instead, I have had to repeatedly pursue You over a length of time, that is usually much longer than I like.  Many times, You don’t give me what I ask for, but give me what I need or what is better for me.  I usually don’t see it in the beginning, but eventually do and am grateful for it.  This all makes me realize that You were with me during each and every prayer, tear, frustration, etc.

P~ I am so thankful God for my relationship with You.  Thank you for never leaving me.  Thank you for doing what is best for me, in spite of what I ask for.  Please continue to work on me and give me situations and circumstances that will help grow my faith.

Our team would love the privilege of praying for you! Please share how we can lift you in prayer at prayer@DiscoverOneThing.com
