“There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:42 (NLT) The heart of this ministry is to inspire a love for God’s Word and encourage the discipline of daily Bible reading and SOAP journaling. These are a few of our SOAP notes from today’s reading. We encourage you to read and journal on your own first, then join us in conversation about what God revealed to YOU today. Proud of Whose and who I am | Chelsea Horne
S~ Do you give the horse it’s strength or clothe it’s neck with a flowing mane? Do you make it leap like a locust, striking terror with its proud snorting? It paws fiercely, rejoicing in its strength, and charges into the fray. It laughs at fear, afraid of nothing; it does not shy away from the sword. Job 39: 19-22 (NIV)
O~ The horse is proud of its strength. It doesn’t wish to have a horn like a rhino or a beak like a crane. It rejoices in its own strength – proud of the way that God has made it – in its own special way.
A~ Just like the horse, I have a strength all my own that God blesses me with specifically for my purpose. No piece of me or my heart is wasted, and that includes my weaknesses. Because God’s strength is made perfect in my weakness.
Today, I will embrace all that I am and ask God to show me how the parts of myself that I don’t like are being used for His Glory. Because I want to understand how both my strengths and my weaknesses glorify Him.
P~ Lord Jesus, You recently taught me the value of Your Grace and made it very real for me. You know the parts of my heart that I have had to hide and shelter away from the world. Please help me and, in Your Loving Way, coax those parts out of the deep recesses of my heart where I have hidden them. I only want to bring them out at Your Direction and under Your Protection. Please help me to surrender my weaknesses, as well as my strengths, to You, Father.
Please teach me and show me who I am in You. Help me to be so proud of every part of me that any and all attack on my heart will bounce off and fizzle out, because I know to Whom I belong. Please help me to be proud of my heart and of who I am, in You.
