“There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:42 (NLT) The heart of this ministry is to inspire a love for God’s Word and encourage the discipline of daily Bible reading and SOAP journaling. These are a few of our SOAP notes from today’s reading. We encourage you to read and journal on your own first, then join us in conversation about what God revealed to YOU today. Click HERE to go directly to the daily reading if you wish.

The Gateway Is Narrow | Kimi Miller

S~ But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it. Matthew 7:14 (NLT)

O~ In the previous verse, Jesus says, “The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for many to choose that way.” And then He continues, “But the gateway to life is very narrow…”

I began to ponder how narrow this gateway is, and then I remember Jesus’ words from John 10:9, “Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved.”

Jesus is the gate. That is why the gateway is narrow – because you must enter one at a time through Jesus. Because it is about a personal relationship that you alone must decide to enter into. Because nobody else can get you through the gateway – only Jesus.

A~ Relationship matters. Relationship with You matters most. Living out of my relationship with You, helps me to live a life that points to you. Like a street sign pointing, “This is the way to life!”

Passing through the gate is a personal choice, but it is my responsibility to show them how to find the Gate. How to find Jesus.

P~ Jesus, thank You for making a way for us to enter into eternity through You. You really are the best! Help me to live a life that points to You. Amen

Relationship | Marisa Hartman

S~ “Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’” Matthew 7:23 (NIV)

O~ Even if you have done good things in His name, He will deny you if you have no relationship with Him.

A~ Last Sunday, our pastor spoke about growing closer to God. He said, “The closer I get to Jesus, the more I will be amazed.” Having a relationship with someone requires time spent with them. If I am to really know my Savior and He is to know me, we have to spend time together. How can He amaze me with anything if I’m not paying attention? Taking the time, daily, to read and listen helps me grow closer and know Him. When I don’t do that I miss out on the amazing things He has to show me.

P~ Lord, I want to know you. I’m sorry for ignoring the time with you. Thank you for always being willing to meet with me. I am grateful that there are things that you want to show me.

Our team would love the privilege of praying for you! Please share how we can lift you in prayer at prayer@DiscoverOneThing.com
