Memorial Day – Labor Day Sabbatical

“There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:42 (NLT) The heart of this ministry is to inspire a love for God’s Word and encourage the discipline of daily Bible reading and SOAP journaling. These are a few of our SOAP notes from today’s reading. We encourage you to read and journal on your own first, then join us in conversation about what God revealed to YOU today. Click HERE to go directly to the daily reading if you wish.

So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God,

for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works

as God did from his. Hebrews 4:9-10 (NIV)

Hello friends,

This year as spring turns into summer, as our rhythm of life changes a bit, we have prayerfully decided as a team to take a Sabbatical from ministry. From Memorial Day until Labor Day we are all going to step back into the quiet spaces alone with the Lord and rest with Him. Our hearts are very much committed to sharing the journey of life with you, encouraging You in Your walk with the Lord, and spreading the richness of relationship that comes with daily Bible reading and SOAP journaling. We encourage you to continue to meet with Him daily by reading His Word,  gleaning one nugget that He speaks to Your heart. There is no greater privilege than hearing directly from God personally. What a gift!

We’ll be back 🙂 Until then, we’ll probably pop in on Facebook and Instagram! Follow us! Here’s a look at who we are and why we are here. Have a wonderful summer!

Our team would love the privilege of praying for you! Please share how we can lift you in prayer at prayer@DiscoverOneThing.com

  1. Enjoy your sabbath my friends!! Know that your morning Soap journals have been so helpful, inspirational, eye opening, educational, & truly adored. Thank you for helping me grow my relationships Jesus. Without your morning notes I may not have been so intentional to read daily. I’ve been able to pray for each of you and ask for your prayers in return. I’ve developed the morning habit I struggled to start for many years. This summer I will continue! Thank you so much for your time and hearts. Happy Summer!!
