“There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:42 (NLT) The heart of this ministry is to inspire a love for God’s Word and encourage the discipline of daily Bible reading and SOAP journaling. These are a few of our SOAP notes from today’s reading. We encourage you to read and journal on your own first, then join us in conversation about what God revealed to YOU today. S~ On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made. 1 Corinthians 16:2 (NIV)
O~ I have decided, with God’s Help and Direction, that I want to be better in the next 12 months. I have noticed that I get a chance for a new start every May-June and I want to take full advantage of that this year! From graduating high school, to starting a new season of life, Spring has been an opportunity for me to reinvent how I see myself and to learn more about how God sees me.
Over the past four months, God has given me a deep desire for “something more” for my life. A deeper meaning to my days than just the monotony of school, work, eat, sleep, and do it all again tomorrow. I feel as if He is calling me into a season of intentional and faithful living with Him, every single day. I have been praying about and trusting God to lead me through this process this week, and the results have been amazing thus far!
One of the things that I have always struggled with is knowing exactly how I should tithe. Before or after tax, how much and how often, to what organization/ church should I give my tithe to? I have put too much thought into this over the past few years and have not trusted God to lead my heart to what He wants me to do in Love.
A~ 1 Corinthians 16:2 is a good way to help me learn to make my tithe intentional and not just a passive thing to check off on my to-do list. To calculate my income week to week so that I have a better understanding of how much I need to give back to God in thankfulness. I will also pray about and ask for His Guidance in better management of my finances. I want to learn to be responsible and grateful for what He has blessed me with. To learn to rely more on His Love than money.
P~ Lord Jesus, I know that You know how long the prospect and idea of real, intentional, growth has been on my heart. I know that I can be better, and I want to start taking steps in the direction of trusting You more and having faith in Your Love and Grace as You guide me through my life. Please help me to always remember that You have a plan for me, and that Your plan is so much bigger and better than anything that I could ever imagine for myself.
In Your Name I pray,
