May 6, 2019 Judges 19-21; 1 Corinthians 6

“There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:42 (NLT) The heart of this ministry is to inspire a love for God’s Word and encourage the discipline of daily Bible reading and SOAP journaling. These are a few of our SOAP notes from today’s reading. We encourage you to read and journal on your own first, then join us in conversation about what God revealed to YOU today. Click HERE to go directly to the daily reading if you wish.

You Are My King | Kimi Miller

S~ In those days, Israel had no king; everyone did as they saw fit. Judges 21:25 (NIV)

O~ This is the theme throughout the book of Judges: without a king, everyone did as they saw fit. Sometimes, it feels like this is how we live now; everyone doing what appears right in their eyes. I guess that is how one lives when they have no king/ruler/lord, and instead take on that role for themselves.

A~ Submission to You, Jesus, means I follow Your decrees and Your commandments. Submission to You means Your ways are better than mine – even when they don’t make much sense at the time, or it doesn’t seem fair to me. Submission to You, King Jesus, means You have the final say. Not me, not what I think is best or makes the most sense, but You and what Your Word says.

P~ Jesus, help me to remember that You are my King. I am not to do what I see fit, but I am to submit to You and obey You in everything. For You are my Lord, my Master, my King.
