“There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:42 (NLT) The heart of this ministry is to inspire a love for God’s Word and encourage the discipline of daily Bible reading and SOAP journaling. These are a few of our SOAP notes from today’s reading. We encourage you to read and journal on your own first, then join us in conversation about what God revealed to YOU today. Separation Impossible | Marisa Hartman
S~ For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Roman’s 8:38-39 (NIV)
O~ Paul is talking to the Romans about the promises of God. Believers have always had to face hardships; persecution, imprisonment, or even death. When hard times come even believers can fear that God has abandoned them. In this verse, Paul is proclaiming that it is IMPOSSIBLE to be separated from Christ.
A~ Christ’s death for us is proof of His unending love. Nothing can stop Christ from finding us when we are lost or from being there when we ask Him to be. God loves me so completely that He will never let anything come between us. I have nothing to fear. It is only in those times that I choose to ignore Him that we are separate. When I come to Him, he is ALWAYS there. The only thing that can separate me from God is me. He gives us the choice of how and when we seek him. This verse reminds me that it’s not because of any external force when I feel distant from Christ.
P~ Father forgive me when I ignore or turn from you. Thank you for blessing me with Your unending grace and presence.
