March 24, 2019 Numbers 35,36; Acts 21

“There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:42 (NLT) The heart of this ministry is to inspire a love for God’s Word and encourage the discipline of daily Bible reading and SOAP journaling. These are a few of our SOAP notes from today’s reading. We encourage you to read and journal on your own first, then join us in conversation about what God revealed to YOU today. Click HERE to go directly to the daily reading if you wish.

S~ Then Paul answered, “Why are you weeping and breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus. Acts 21:13 (NIV)

O~ Paul knew through others’ prophecies that going to Jerusalem would be bad for him. Paul also knew that God gave him clear direction to travel to Jerusalem. He accepted whatever came his way in order to further the name of Christ.

A~ If I know something is going to be difficult or painful, I avoid it like the plague! I love my comfort. I like to know what’s expected of me. I’ve ignored God when He has asked me to do something difficult. In that instance, I missed out on serious personal growth and, I believe, connection. As I learn to be okay in the trepidation I feel when God asks me to do something uncomfortable I’m more able to hear him. The more I trust Him, the more He uses me. If I just do what He asks, things tend to go MUCH smoother.

P~ Lord, I am so honored that You would choose to use me for anything. I mess up so much. Thank you for redeeming my mess and teaching me to walk through my fear of being out of control. My life and heart are Yours. Always. Amen
