“There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:42 (NLT) The heart of this ministry is to inspire a love for God’s Word and encourage the discipline of daily Bible reading and SOAP journaling. These are a few of our SOAP notes from today’s reading. We encourage you to read and journal on your own first, then join us in conversation about what God revealed to YOU today. A Holy Life | Kimi Miller
S~ So do not bring shame on my holy name, for I will display my holiness among the people of Israel. I am the Lord who makes you holy. Leviticus 22:32 (NLT)
O~ God called the people of Israel to set the apart as His people. He had to give them rules to live by, because He wanted to be with them. But God is holy and could not dwell among those who were unholy because of sin. That is why we must have Jesus. He is our savior, the bridge between God and us.
A~ We are to be holy because we have been made holy through Christ’s blood. There is nothing we can do on our own accord to be holy before God; it is only through Jesus, because of His Spirit dwells in us – and He is holy – that we are holy. That is why we have been set apart and why we choose to live lives worthy of His name – out of our love for God and by the power of the Spirit.
P~ Lord Jesus, Thank you for dwelling inside me. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for your daily presence in my life. Please help me to live a life that is holy and worthy of Your name. Amen
Pray, then action | guest post
S~ “In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene get up and walk!” Then Peter took the lame man by the hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened. Acts 3:6b,7 (NLT)
O~ I see in this passage that Peter prayed for healing first, then he helped the man up. And as he was helping the man up – that’s when the healing occurred.
And not only was the man healed, his feet and ankles were strengthened. This man’s ankles had never been used, those muscles that were NEVER used were able to jump, walk and leap to praise God!
A~ I LOVE my God! His way is never ever the world’s way. The healing came after the prayer, but in the doing.
Peter prayed, then helped the man. Peter didn’t just pray and leave, he paused in his day and literally reached into someone’s life.
As a nurse, I’ve seen what years of not using your muscles can do. They atrophy and start to shrink, causing your legs to bend in odd positions.
This man’s healing was complete! He wasn’t healed and then had to go to 10 visits of physical therapy. He stood up – jumped, leapt, walked.
Praise God! And that’s what the man does after his healing.
I’ll be honest, I want healing, but I want healing to come just from praying. I believe that God can heal anyway that He chooses. But sometimes the healing comes after the prayer and in the action after the prayer.
P~ Father thank You! I want healing, I think this healing will come through action after the prayers…..please direct my steps! In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
