“There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:42 (NLT) The heart of this ministry is to inspire a love for God’s Word and encourage the discipline of daily Bible reading and SOAP journaling. These are a few of our SOAP notes from today’s reading. We encourage you to read and journal on your own first, then join us in conversation about what God revealed to YOU today. Click HERE to go directly to the daily reading if you wish.

Following Jesus’s Example | Joni Tyner

S~ As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at his tax collector’s booth. “Follow me and be my disciple,” Jesus said to him.  So Matthew got up and followed him. Later Matthew invited Jesus and his disciples to his home as dinner guests, along with many tax collectors and other disreputable sinners.  Matthew 9: 10-11 (NLT)

O~ Tax collectors were hated by the Jewish people because they often overcharged people and padded their own pockets.  Matthew showed great hospitality by inviting Jesus to his house.  He must have felt great love and absence of judgement to do this.  I think that is why he invited his friends to the party, he trusted Jesus would also show them love and acceptance.

A/P~ I desire to respond like Jesus did.  I want people to feel loved and accepted AND know about my faith.  I ask that You would guide my words and speech and that people would see You through me.

Our team would love the privilege of praying for you! Please share how we can lift you in prayer at prayer@DiscoverOneThing.com
