Perspective | guest post

S~ Mary stayed with Elizabeth for about three months and then returned home. Luke 1:56 (NIV)

O~ Mary stayed with Elizabeth most likely during the last trimester of her pregnancy.  My perspective this morning was on Elizabeth.  What a gift having Mary there in the last three months of pregnancy! Elizabeth was older and I’m sure Mary was a huge help to her.

A~ Another thing has my perspective changing.  A young man I knew when he was in middle school, ended up at the family Thanksgiving dinner as a date to one of my younger cousins.  I always favored this young man, probably because he lost his mom when he was young.  As the years have past, I’ve always wondered about him.

It was so great to catch up with this young man over dinner.  After he left, another cousin said he was so nervous about meeting the family that he planned his outfit two weeks in advance.  My son pulled on the top two clean things in his basket as he was dressing for Thanksgiving dinner. These two thoughts of getting ready for Thanksgiving dinner has shifted my thoughts.  I have no idea what is running through people’s heads at any time.  What makes one person nervous doesn’t phase another person.

P~ Abba, I can’t believe You brought this young man back into proximity, even after years of life!  Bless Him!  In all Your ways!  Soften his heart to receive Your love and goodness.  Soften the hearts of those around him to have favor on him.  Set his feet on the Rock and give him a new song to sing.  Hedge him in with Your arms surrounding him – holding him.  May peace rule in his heart!  I love You and how You work all things!

Our team would love the privilege of praying for you! Please share how we can lift you in prayer at prayer@DiscoverOneThing.com
