November 30, 2018 Daniel 11,12; Mark 16

“There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:42 (NLT) The heart of this ministry is to inspire a love for God’s Word and encourage the discipline of daily Bible reading and SOAP journaling. These are a few of our SOAP notes from today’s reading. We encourage you to read and journal on your own first, then join us in conversation about what God revealed to YOU today. Click HERE to go directly to the daily reading if you wish.

It’s a Process… | Kim Chipman

S~ Some of the wise will stumble, so that they may be refined, purified and made spotless until the time of the end, for it will still come at the appointed time. Daniel 11:35 (NIV)

O~ There’s a lot in Daniel that I just don’t understand. This stood out to me today, though. Specifically that some of the wise will stumble SO THAT they may be refined, purified, and made spotless. The stumbling has purpose.

A~ This is encouraging to me today. Sometimes I feel like I should be further along in my spiritual walk. Like I should have it more together. Like I shouldn’t keep constantly messing up. Ugh.

I’m reminded of Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Even the stumbling – the messing up, the sin – will be used by You for good. It will refine and purify, which is a continual process in this dirty world. It doesn’t mean I don’t love You genuinely (because I do) or that I’m not doing my best (because I am)…or for that matter that others aren’t trying either. We are human and broken and this side of heaven it’s just not going to be perfect. It’s messy. It’s a process. You are refining me.

P~ Lord, help me to give myself and others grace during the refining process. Sometimes it’s hard for me, as You know. Help me to be patient with the process. I love You!

Our team would love the privilege of praying for you! Please share how we can lift you in prayer at
