November 24, 2018 Ezekiel 47,48; Mark 13:1-31

“There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:42 (NLT) The heart of this ministry is to inspire a love for God’s Word and encourage the discipline of daily Bible reading and SOAP journaling. These are a few of our SOAP notes from today’s reading. We encourage you to read and journal on your own first, then join us in conversation about what God revealed to YOU today. Click HERE to go directly to the daily reading if you wish.

Anytime… | Marisa Hartman

S~ At that time people will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. And He will send His angels and gather His elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens. Mark 13:26-27 (NIV)

O~ Jesus is describing the end times to Peter, James, John and Andrew. Deception, false signs, trials, war, famine, earthquakes, betrayal… all will happen before His return. He is warning them to be on guard and watching for His true return.

A~ It has been a very emotionally difficult week. I want to cry out to Jesus and beg Him to just come back already! I want to be home with Him where I don’t witness good friends losing their child to suicide. I want to spend my days praising Him instead of comforting a co-worker who struggles with mental health. I want to jump into His open arms instead of spending another lonely night on my couch. I want to see all of those I love singing together in praise and honor instead of worried about what’s next.

I know that I still have work here to further His kingdom. Some days, being patient is hard. We are still here so that we can continue to reach those hurting, lonely, and lost souls and teach them about His love that is unending. Especially on the rough days, I know His hand is on me and that gives me peace. My job is to pass that peace on. Our church has a motto: we exist to live and love like Jesus. It’s powerful in it’s simplicity. My only job while here on this earth, is to seek Him and to love others like He loves me. (Mark 12:30-31) So, when I’m feeling low and just wanna escape the yuck of this world I have to remember my job isn’t over yet. There are more people to love. There are more ways to serve. There is oh so much more to learn. When he’s ready to return, I’ll be overjoyed. Until then, I’ll praise Him while I wait.

P~ Thank you for the promise of Your return. Thank you for the peace of the Holy Spirit as we walk through the difficult times here on earth. Thank you for designing us for community so we have support while we figure this crazy life out. I am honored to be your daughter. I will seek You always. Help me to see those that You would have me love. Show me the tangible ways to serve You to the best of my ability. Please forgive me when I ignore or second guess Your promptings. Help me do the hard things you ask of me with a smile and a light heart. My heart, soul, mind, strength and body are yours. Amen
