“There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:42 (NLT) The heart of this ministry is to inspire a love for God’s Word and encourage the discipline of daily Bible reading and SOAP journaling. These are a few of our SOAP notes from today’s reading. My Heart, My Responsibility | Kim Chipman

S~ Instead of carrying out your duty in regard to my holy things, you put others in charge of my sanctuary. Ezekiel 44:8 (NIV)

O~ The Lord is reestablishing the Temple as holy. He is restoring the priesthood. The Israelites had not been following the prescribed practices surrounding the Temple and sacrifices. One of the issues was they handed off duties to others.

A~ This hits me hard regarding my heart, which is MY Temple for You. It is holy. Reminds me of Proverbs 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

This is MY JOB. I cannot ask anyone else to tend my heart. I’m coming off a sweet and precious time of retreat for a couple days. The entire purpose of this time was to guard my heart, to fill it up, secure come boundaries, to “carry out my duty”. This is sacred work. Ongoing work. Holy work. MY work. I cannot have anyone else tend my soul, my heart, my sanctuary, my Temple.

P~ Lord, help me to maintain a pace of life that includes time in Your Word, with Your people, listening to teaching, reading good books, tending to the holy place within me, praying on the steps of my soul in the deep place where nobody goes. All the way home. I love You

My Strong Foundation | Joni Tyner

S~ Didn’t you ever read this in the Scriptures?

“The stone that the builders rejected

Has now become the cornerstone. This is the LORD’s doing,

And it is wonderful to see.   Jesus speaking  Mark 12:10-11 (NLT)

O~ Jesus is quoting from Psalm 118: 22-23.  The small print in my Bible gives reference that this scripture is in Acts 4:11, Romans 9:33,  Ephesians 2:20,  and 1 Peter 2:5-7.   My Bible notes also explain that Jesus is the stone and the Jewish leaders were the builders that rejected the stone. A cornerstone is used as a base to make sure the other stones are straight and level—this correlates to Jesus’s teaching being our foundation.

A~ I looked up each of the cross references to this verse and they all say the same thing.  I am struck by how important this is!!! Jesus is the foundation of EVERYTHING.  I need to always remember this and align my actions with His teaching.

P~ Dear Lord, on this Thanksgiving, I have so much gratitude that You are my foundation!  Please forgive me for all the times I mess up my priorities.   I love You!

Our team would love the privilege of praying for you! Please share how we can lift you in prayer at
