October 19, 2018 Jeremiah 10-12; Revelation 13:1-10

“There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:42 (NLT) The heart of this ministry is to inspire a love for God’s Word and encourage the discipline of daily Bible reading and SOAP journaling. These are a few of our SOAP notes from today’s reading. We encourage you to read and journal on your own first, then join us in conversation about what God revealed to YOU today. Click HERE to go directly to the daily reading if you wish.

Do Not Be Deceived | Kim Chipman

S~ Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived the inhabitants of the earth. It ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. Revelation 13:14 (NIV)

O~ My study Bible says this second beast…”Later identified as the false prophet, he is a counterfeit of the Holy Spirit. He seems to do good, but the purpose of his miracles is to deceive.”

satan [seyt-n] (noun) 1. the devil, adversary of God, and tempter of mankind

A~ It is so important for me to remember that there is an enemy of my soul – an adversary. He is a deceiver. It is so very important for me to know the truth.

John 8:31-32 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

I need to not only know what the Word says, but put it into practice. I do not want to be decieved by my adversary. I want to know the truth. I need to both know Your teaching AND hold to it so I can discern and not be deceived.

P~ Thank You for this reminder today. This is of life and death importance. I love You!
