October 10, 2018 Isaiah 53-56; Revelation 6:7-17

“There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:42 (NLT) The heart of this ministry is to inspire a love for God’s Word and encourage the discipline of daily Bible reading and SOAP journaling. These are a few of our SOAP notes from today’s reading. We encourage you to read and journal on your own first, then join us in conversation about what God revealed to YOU today. Click HERE to go directly to the daily reading if you wish.

Love and Compassion | Kim Chipman

S~ For the mountains may move and the hills disappear, but even then my faithful love for you will remain. My covenant of blessing will never be broken,” says the Lord, who has mercy on you. Isaiah 54:10 (NIV)

O/A~ Lately I’ve been replaying some of my poor choices over and over in my mind. Things I’d do differently if I could go backward. Things I’m embarrassed of. Things that honestly I’m ashamed of. I wish I could say that they were things I did decades ago, but they are not. It makes me feel insecure. It makes me question my worth and my identity. It makes me feel empty and sad and broken. It makes me feel unworthy. I don’t like it, but I keep doing it. The more I think back the more I make bad choices again. Which just gives me more material to think about. Around and around it goes.

This morning I read this instagram post by Rachel Hollis: “Wake up early. Drink your coffee. Spend a few minutes in gratitude. Spend even longer setting your intentions for the day. Who do you want to be? How would the BEST version of you live out this day? Look for the good in others and tell them what you see. Look for the good in yourself and remind yourself who you are. This day is a gift. Your life is a blessing. Respond accordingly.”

I needed to hear these words. They snapped my thoughts from looking back to looking around and looking forward.

Then I read this verse. (one day I’ll put social media AFTER Bible time where it should be) Anyway…no more self shaming… This verse reminds me who I AM. And who You are. No matter the circumstances – You love me. When I seek You I will find peace, You promise Your peace covenant will not be removed. You are compassionate. I don’t feel worthy, but I don’t think I’m supposed to. I do feel so very grateful.

P~ Oh, my heart is full! Thank You so much for Your Word. Thank You for who You are. Thank You thank You. I love You!
