Confident | Kimi Miller

S~ “I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.” Psalm 34:4 (NLT)

O~ For the last ten months I have been struggling with disobedience.  God has placed a call in my life, and part of my response to that call is to leave everything and follow him.  For me, “leaving everything” means leaving my full-time job and pursuing graduate school at Grace University and my speaking ministry full time. My fear is what kept me from being obedient.

I was afraid to talk to my husband about what God was calling me to do.  I was afraid what leaving my job would do to our income. I was afraid that I wouldn’t finish well…or finish at all.  I was afraid that I would fail.

So, I prayed.  And I asked others to pray for me, too.

A~ When I finally found the courage to talk to my husband about all of this, he was very supportive.  God had already prepared his heart, and I know it was our prayers that had a huge part in all of this.

We have decided it’s time for me to leave my job, and be obedient to what God is asking me to do. I can confidently say that God has delivered my from all of my fears, but not the uncertainty of what the future holds. There are times when I think, “What on earth am I doing?!”, but at the same time, I am excited to see how He will use my life to glorify His name!  I know, and I am confident that my God will complete the work He has started in me (Phil 1:6), and I am so grateful for the friends and family around me, praying me through this next chapter in my life!

P~ Dear Jesus, Thank you for your deliverance.  Help me to walk boldly forward, so my life might be a living testimony of all you have done for me.  I love you!  Amen.

Work for Peace | Kim Chipman

S~ Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it. Psalms 34:14 (NLT)

O~ David is sharing how to live a long and prosperous life.

A~ This requires effort – more effort than just avoiding sin for sure! Not only avoid sin…but DO GOOD. Search for peace…some days that is HARD. Work to maintain peace? There are days that feels impossible!

P~ Lord, I love peace and need to remember it is hard work. Give me the strength to do it and the discernment to pick my battles. Help me to honor You in everything. I love You.

Live differently than unbelievers | guest post

S~ Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord. 2 Corinthians 6:17 (NLT)

O~ This seems like a harsh lesson in this world where we are all striving to be like everyone else.  Or we are wanting those things that the world has to offer.

A~ God Himself is calling us out of this world and to separate us from unbelievers.  Seperate ourselves from how they live, how they act, what they chase after.  Walk along side unbelievers, but live different!

I know this to be the case because Jesus told us to go and make disciples.  We do that by being with others, unbelievers. He loves everyone He created and wants everyone to join His family!

P~ Father, I want my life to look differently than an unbeliever.  Separate me, but help me to share the Good News with them so all will be saved and not perish!  In Jesus’ Name!  Amen!
