Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:42 (NLT) The heart of this ministry is to inspire a love for God’s Word and encourage the discipline of daily Bible reading and SOAP journaling. These are a few of our SOAP notes from today’s reading. S~ Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.” 1 Corinthians 15:33 (NIV)

O/A~ The company we keep matters. It is important to spend time with unbelievers, but I do need to be sure the people who have access to the deepest parts of my heart are people pushing me towards Jesus. My Zach just graduated from high school. In his card I reminded him of this verse. As he launches into being an adult I pray he makes great decisions across the board, but there are some super critical choices. Friends are one of them. I pray this for all my children, and it’s a great reminder for me, too!

P~ Lord, today I pray for my kids and their choice of friends. I pray You would guide them into life giving, character building relationships. I look back and see how you protected me and guided me. I’m so thankful that I know You will do the same for them. Help my Mama’s heart to release them to Your care. I love You!

O~ Bad friends and entertainment have the ability to turn someone away from Jesus.

A~ I have noticed this lately in my own life. I was watching one of my favorite shows on Netflix while working on another project. The project took many hours and by the time I was done, I should have been feeling great instead I was in a grumpy mood. The next day, I was reading a true crime book and I found myself in the same mood as the day before, still I did not catch on. A few days later, I was running errands and paying bills with KLOVE on in the background. I realized about half way through my long list of errands, I was actually in a pretty good mood (typically I hate doing paying bills and running errands). I realized the difference was the background noise. I was filling my head and heart with uplifting music compared to filling it with murder and malice. It was an aha moment for to realize the impact of negativity in my heart and head.

P~ Lord, thank you for showing me that You are always the best way. Amen
