“There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:42 (NLT) The heart of this ministry is to inspire a love for God’s Word and encourage the discipline of daily Bible reading and SOAP journaling. These are a few of our SOAP notes from today’s reading. Wisdom – reading through a Proverbs a day in April | guest post

S~ …for acquiring a disciplined and prudent life, doing what is right and just and fair…  Proverbs 1:3 (NIV)

O~ These sayings of wisdom lead to a disciplined and prudent life.  Prudent is having or showing good judgement, having or showing deep understanding and intelligent application of knowledge.

A~ Yes, I’d like a disciplined and prudent life.  Disciplined and prudent are not words I would use to describe myself. But I think by using God’s wisdom found in the gems of the book of Proverbs would honor my Father.

P~ Father, James wrote, ‘If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.’  So Father, without doubt, I am asking You for wisdom for a disciplined and prudent life, doing what is right and just and fair.  I pray this in Jesus’ Name!

Good News | Joni Tyner

S~ God promised this Good News long ago through his prophets in the holy Scriptures.  The Good News is about His Son. In his earthly life He was born into King David’s family line, and he was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 1: 1-4 (NLT)

O~ Paul is the author of Romans. He is writing the book to the Jewish Christians living in Rome.  He is reminding the Christians that

  1. This was God’s plan ALL ALONG!
  2. Jesus was born into a human family , but was completely God.
  3. He rose from the dead!  This happened on Easter morning.

A~ As I celebrate Easter this weekend,  I am going to strive to focus on my gratitude that I have been intentionally chosen by the Maker of the universe, to be His child.  I celebrate my eternal destination is Heaven because He chose me and paid the price for my sins on by dying on the cross.  I celebrate with joy and enthusiasm to share this with truth with others who don’t know Him.

P~ Dear Lord, I pray each person reading the blog is reflecting on the sacrifice of Jesus’s death on the cross as they celebrate Easter.  Please remove any distractions that keep us from focusing on the purpose of Easter—to make a way for us to be reconciled with You and have eternal life.   Dear Jesus, thank you for choosing me.  I pray You continue to pursue my heart and help me eliminate stuff that distracts me from living a life that gives You glory.

Our team would love the privilege of praying for you! Please share how we can lift you in prayer at prayer@DiscoverOneThing.com
