Humble Ears | Kim Chipman

S~ Now Moses was very humble – more humble than any other person on earth…not with my servant Moses. Of all my house, he is the one I trust. I speak to him face to face clearly, and not in riddles! He sees the Lord as He is. So why were you not afraid to criticize my servant Moses? Numbers 12:3, 7-8 (NLT)

O~ Miriam and Aaron criticized Moses because he had married a Cushite woman. The Lord reprimanded them – saying He speaks through many prophets, yes, but He speaks to them in visions and dreams. Moses is special.

A~ What right would I have to stand in critical judgement of anyone’s motives? EVER? This made You very angry. Only You know anyone’s heart. To judge another’s motives and criticize them is not a place I should ever go. Ever. I have quite enough to deal with in my own heart! Moses was VERY HUMBLE so You trusted him and spoke to him directly. Criticizing others is in itself prideful. It is saying within myself “I know better, I am better…you are less”. Who am I to know another’s heart anyway? You know my heart (and everyone else’s) and my responsibility is to get my heart right before You…my audience of One.

P~ Lord, I know You desire a humble heart. I’m pretty sure the only way I can hear You is with humble spiritual ears. Please (gently) remind me – help me to see – any thought or attitude that is prideful. I know there are many, but I long to hear Your voice and glorify You with my life. I love you~
