Let Me Walk Among You | Kimi Miller
S~ “I will walk among you; I will be your God, and you will be my people. I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt so you would no longer be their slaves. I broke the yoke of slavery from your neck so you can walk with your heads held high.” Leviticus 26:12-13 (NLT)
O~ All the Israelites had to do to enjoy God’s presence was worship Him alone. “I will walk among you; I will be your God, and you will be my people.” If they followed His decrees and commandments, then they would enjoy abundant blessings. And God would do it! Just as He rescued them from their yoke of slavery, He has rescued ME, and He wants to bless me.
Lucky for me, because of Jesus, all of God’s commandments can be summed up simply to “Love God, love people.” And yet, there are moments I still fall short. I quickly slide back into my old habits of self-centeredness and lose sight of Him.
A~ I want to remember – always and throughout my day – that God rescued ME! Not only did he save me from myself and my destructive ways, but on top of that, He wants to bless me! If I would only follow Him, and stay in close communion with Him!
Getting up early in the mornings to spend time with Him strengthens and deepens my relationship with Him. Sometimes there are mornings, when I am too tired to get up in time to sit at His feet before my day begins – those are not my favorite days. But the mornings I do get up – I find that those are the days where I am more likely to remember how He saved me, and to pass that love on to others – loving myself less, and loving Him and others more.
P~ Jesus, sweet Jesus, Thank you for loving me more than I can imagine. Be with me today and help me to live according to your will. Help me to love others as you do. I love you so. In Your precious name, Amen.

S~ At this point everyone in the high council stared at Stephen because his face became as bright as an angel’s. Acts 6:15 (NLT)
O~ Stephen was a godly man, spoke in the Spirit, and performed miracles and signs. People started lying about him and brought him before high council.
A~ I’m not sure whether Stephen spoke out to defend himself or not – there is no record of that. It just says “everyone stared at him because his face became bright”. I know when people speak falsely about me or even just disagree or misunderstand me I get defensive and argumentative. What I would prefer is to just let Your light shine through me, reflect off my face. Stephen had been arrested and was being lied about. I, too, can choose to shine for you…not be defensive or angry, but rest in the knowledge of who I am in You. I’m not perfect, I make mistakes, but You see me, You understand me, and You love me in spite of all that you see no matter what. I need to let that truth penetrate my heart.
P~ Help me to reflect you when emotions run high and the situation I’m in isn’t fair or even true. Help me to close my mouth and reflect Your love until I can reflect Your love with my mouth open. I love You.
