“There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:42 (NLT) The heart of this ministry is to inspire a love for God’s Word and encourage the discipline of daily Bible reading and SOAP journaling. These are a few of our SOAP notes from today’s reading. We encourage you to read and journal on your own first, then join us in conversation about what God revealed to YOU today. A Holy Life | Kimi Miller

S~ So do not bring shame on my holy name, for I will display my holiness among the people of Israel. I am the Lord who makes you holy. Leviticus 22:32 (NLT)

O~ God called the people of Israel to set the apart as His people.  He had to give them rules to live by, because He wanted to be with them. But God is holy and could not dwell among those who were unholy because of sin. That is why we must have Jesus. He is our savior, the bridge between God and us.

A~ We are to be holy because we have been made holy through Christ’s blood.  There is nothing we can do on our own accord to be holy before God; it is only through Jesus, because of His Spirit dwells in us – and He is holy – that we are holy.  That is why we have been set apart and why we choose to live lives worthy of His name – out of our love for God and by the power of the Spirit.

P~ Lord Jesus, Thank you for dwelling inside me.  Thank you, Holy Spirit, for your daily presence in my life.  Please help me to live a life that is holy and worthy of Your name. Amen

S~ My son, do not forget My teaching, but keep My commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity.  Proverbs 3: 1, 2 (NIV)

O/A~ I’m just not feeling the peace in a certain relationship.  At all.  This person drives.me.crazy,CRAZY!  As I’m digging into my heart on why they are driving me crazy, I realize that I’m trying to be kind and nice and patient and all the stuff that God says is love.  I’m trying to do that, in my own power.  And I’m failing.

Surprise!  When I do things on my own, I fail.  I’ve forgotten (more like ignored) my Father’s teaching and my emotions are running high, which always makes me feel like my life is in chaos.  When His commands are in my heart; then I will have peace.  It seems so simple, yet I still stray from Him.

P~ Father, why have I distanced myself from Your commands and teaching?  Why do I fill up from the everflowing Spirit, then walk away from that thinking I’ve got my own life?  I keep thinking about that verse in 2 Timothy 2:13, when I’m faithless, You are faithful because You can’t disown Yourself.  That’s where I’m at right now.  I love You!  Thank You for never leaving me or forsaking me!
