Tell His Story | Kimi Miller

S~ I’ve also done it so you can tell your children and grandchildren about how I made a mockery of the Egyptians and about the signs I displayed among them – and so you will know that I am the Lord. Exodus 10:2 (NLT)

O~ When God rescue His people from Egypt, He did it all according to His plan. He could have carried His plan out any way He wanted, but He chose an orphaned murderer to deliver His message of freedom. God wants to tell HIS story.  When I am obedient to Him, it is His glory that is displayed and remembered.

A~ When I am obedient to God, wonderful (dare I say miraculous?) things happen.  God wants to display those miracles in my life, so I can share them with others!  His desire is for us to tell our story – His story – of how He saved us when things seemed impossible.  He longs to display His power to us – His strength – so that we may find security and shelter under His wings.

P~ Dear Father, I bow before you in awe. How great and marvelous are your works. Lord, allow me opportunities that stretch my faith.  Open my eyes to the miracles you perform so that I might share those things with others, and know that YOU are the Lord. Amen.

Repentance Produces Fruit | Kim Chipman

S~ Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. Matthew 3:8 (NIV)

O~ John the baptist is talking to the Pharisees and Sadducees. I just listened to a great sermon by Andy Stanley on this portion of Scripture. I see this in a deeper way than I did before. You can watch it HERE

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23

A~ I want this fruit in my life. Interesting that fruit is connected to repentance here. Not obedience. Repentance. The Pharisees and Sadducees would be good at following rules…but repentance is a heart issue. When I am not in a place of repentance in my heart it’s easy to be critical, impatient, and judgemental instead of giving grace and being kind. When I remember who I am and who You are my heart changes and my life produces that Spirit fruit.

P~ Lord, help me to remember how much I’ve been forgiven, how sinful I am, and how repentant I must remain. I want my life to bear much fruit for You. I love You!

Humbly Submitted | Kelley Deases

S~ Jesus replied, ‘Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.’ Then John consented. Matthew 3:15 (NIV)

O~ Because John the Baptist appreciated more fully than probably any other contemporary of Jesus who He really was, John felt ill-equipped to baptize His Savior, the Christ. But Jesus was so submitted to the will of His Father that He did just what God asked of Him at all times. Every move He made during His time on earth, to include getting baptized and all the way up to His torturous and agonizing death on that cross, were done in complete humility “to fulfill all righteousness.” And after He came up from the water, the very heavens opened up as The Father spoke of His love and great pleasure with His Son.

A~ God’s ways are higher and better than mine. And yet I have a thousand excuses for not consulting Him or submitting to Him when I think I’d rather take the wheel. Jesus is the perfect example of perfect submission. Even though He had all power and full authority to assert His own agenda, He chose not to, but instead to do only as The Father directed.

P~ Thank You Lord Jesus! If You had chosen, out of your humanness, not to do The Father’s will, I would be lost. We all would be lost. Thank You for your perfect model of submission and a fully surrendered life.

Our team would love the privilege of praying for you! Please share how we can lift you in prayer at prayer@DiscoverOneThing.com
