Do You Want It? | Kim Chipman

S~ When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?” John 5:6 (NIV)

O~ This seems like such an obvious question. This man was an invalid for 38 years and was waiting by a healing pool. It would seem obvious that he wants to get well.

A~ This question really hits me today. I’ve been on a journey to get stronger and healthier this past year. While I’ve come a long way I’m not near where I want to be, but…do I want to get well (healthy, stronger)? Yes, I do would be my knee jerk response. Of course I do. But do I REALLY? I haven’t had the results I want and I know darn well it’s because I’m eating and drinking all the things. I’m working out really hard and I’ve gotten stronger for sure, but I know that to truly be healthy I need to get my consumption under control. I’m the only one who can do that. I make every one of those choices. So really do I want to get healthy? Like do my part? Or do I just want healthy to fall from the sky and happen to me? I can’t live in denial that my choices affect my body and my body isn’t 20 anymore.

P~ Thank you for this wake up call. Do I want to get well? YES, I do! Help me to make the healthy choices I need to make to be the best I can be for You! I love You

God is always working! | Deanna George

S~ Jesus said to them, “My Father is always at work to this very day, and I, too, am working.” John 5:17 (NIV)

O~ God is always working!

A~ I can always go to God. It doesn’t matter the time. He is always available. He is always working. I just need to go to him!

P~ Thank you Lord for never needing downtime like me. Thank you for never needing to escape to a bubble bath to clear your head. I can get discouraged and need a break. Thank you for allowing me to come to you at any time and in any mental state that I am in. Thank you for being ever present in my life! I love that I always have someone to turn to. I will come to you and lay my mind, body, and soul at your feet.
