Obey Without Questioning | Kim Chipman
S~ Noah did everything just as God commanded him. Genesis 6:22 (NIV)
O~ I love Noah. Gen 2:5b-6 says “the Lord God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no one to work the ground, but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground.” So, no rain yet and God tells Noah to build the ark and he does.
A~ I’m inspired by Noah. I want to be more like him. You asked him to do something that didn’t even make any sense…and he did it! He did everything You commanded him.
P~ Lord, I want to live more like Noah. Help me to be more obedient without questioning. I love You!
Patience Leads to Faith | Deanna George
S~ After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the scriptures and the words that Jesus spoken. John 2:22 (NIV)
O~ They didn’t understand what Jesus meant when he said the temple would be rebuilt in three days, but they never forgot what he said. They stored it away for when it made more sense. They realized he knew along what was going to happen.
A~ Even if I don’t understand what Jesus is saying to me, that means that I need to be patient and trust his timing to reveal his message. Patience can be so hard, but it really is worth it. How can I be patient? 1. Stop and listen. 2. Take note of what God said. 3. Be open to his message. 4. Think often of his message/plan to keep front and center. It really is possible to be patient if I remember who is the source. God is the source of truth and life. I can’t go wrong trusting him!
P~ Lord Jesus, thank you for stretching my faith through opportunities of not understanding your message/plan. You already know patience is a continuous lesson for me to learn. I’m telling you to please keep teaching me. I know patience allows me to lean on you and trust you which leads to a deeper faith. Keep it coming Lord!
