Work | Deanna George
S~ But now be strong, Zerubbabel,’ declares the Lord. ‘Be strong, Joshua son of Jozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land,’ declares the Lord, ‘and work. For I am with you,’ declares the Lord Almighty. ‘This is what I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt. And my Spirit remains among you. Do not fear.’ Haggai 2:4-5 (NIV)
O~ 1. Work (Do my part)
2. God is with me. (always)
3. Do not fear. (God does not break his promises.)
A~ I am not called to sit and wait for God to do his thing. He wants me to be active, a willing participant in this life, in this relationship, and no matter how bad or good it gets. I definitely cling to him when life isn’t going my way, but I can forget to cling when it’s all going well. What really stood out today: work. Work at my relationship with God. Work at my relationship with my husband. Work at my businesses. Work at being a mom that meets each of my kids at the place they are at in their lives. It takes dedication, leaps of faith, research, breaking down barriers, and letting go of expectations.
P~ Lord Jesus, my to do list of work I need to do is hard, especially the one saying I need to let go of expectations. Please help me to let go. They have been built up for so long that I don’t know where to begin. Please guide me and educate me on how, when and where to begin. I know you will never leave me or forsake me. Thank you for loving me through thick and thin. I need it God!
