Be Still and Know | Kim Chipman

S~ He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10 (NIV)

O/A~ I need to remember this… Sometimes life just is not fair. It’s frustrating and discouraging. It’s overwhelming. In those times my heart does not feel still. I’m not thinking about how much I trust You. I need to think about this…be still and know…know that You are God, over all the earth You reign. That is comforting to think about. Shifting my thoughts to remembering and trusting who You are will help my heart to be still and know.

P~ Lord, help me to DO this today. Not be frantic and freaking out, but be still and trust. You are worthy. You WILL be exalted in all the earth. I love You!

The Lord’s Judgment | Joni Tyner

S~ The day is near when I, the LORD, will judge all godless nations!  As you have done to Israel, so it will be done to you. All your evil deeds will fall back on your own heads. Obadiah 1:15 (NLT)

O~ Obadiah was God’s messenger to the people of Edom, descendants of Esau. These people were full of pride and sinful behavior and they openly persecuted God’s children.

A~ I remember memorizing the books of the Bible when I was a kid and for some reason, I thought it was really fun to say Obadiah.  Anyways…as I’ve mentioned before, I use a study Bible and I find it really helpful in understanding many things I read in the Bible.  For instance, I read the preface of Obadiah and learned  about this history of  Edom and how God judged and punished them for harming His people. This is very comforting to me because I often get upset when I see all the unexplainable, awful, terrible, evil of this world. This scripture reminds me that God  WILL absolutely respond to evil. (but– it just might not be on my timetable!)  This scripture reminds me, in the end, God wins.

P~ Dear Lord, thank you for this reminder that You are Ruler over all.  I pray for people tonight that are victims of evil people.  It is everywhere—in every city and continent of this earth and this breaks my heart!!  I pray for Your protection and comfort of victims that are being persecuted for their Christian faith, give me an increased awareness and response.  Give me wisdom on what to do when I hear about evil. Sweet Jesus, may Your will be done on this earth just as it is in Heaven.

Our team would love the privilege of praying for you! Please share how we can lift you in prayer at
