Would I have believed? | Deanna George
S~ “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus of Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. Mark 16:6 (NIV)
O~ An angel met Mary Magdalene, Mary, and Salome at Jesus’ tomb and told them he was gone. If I was there with these ladies, would I have believed or remembered that Jesus said he would see us again without an angel being there to remind me?
A~ I don’t need to be in deep morning to forget God’s promises. I can just be going about my day and forget that he is with me always. These ladies had a gift. God provided an angel to help them deal with what they were seeing. I know my mind would have been in shock. I would have gone into question mode. Who took his body? Why would they do that? Where is he now? Who do I need to talk to? I doubt my mind would have remembered what Jesus said this would happen. My mind wouldn’t have allowed me to comprehend that it was possible. They had an angel. I have the Holy Spirit. Am I going to believe and acknowledge the Holy Spirit’s message or nudging? God knew they needed divine intervention, and he knew I would need it too. What do I need to do to believe that I have his help? 1. Stop and focus on God and his truths. Memorize them. Write them down. Claim them for my life. 2. Listen for the Holy Spirit in my daily life (preferably before he out right pushes me in the correct direction I need to go 😊). 3. Act on God’s plan ~ Live by Faith. 4. Believe that God knows me and knows what is best for me. I need to do this everyday!
P~ Lord Jesus, I’m sorry that I can let my brain interfere with my belief. Thank you for providing me with the Holy Spirit as my helper in life. Help me to remember your scriptures when my mind tries to rely my experiences and knowledge. Help me to be focused on your truths and knowledge. Help me to be an active listener. Thank you for pointing out that I need to be more active in my belief.
