Who Am I Going to Call To? | Kim Chipman
S~ “This is what the Lord says, he who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it—the Lord is his name: ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’ Jeremiah 33:2-3 (NIV)
O~ This is a precious promise.
A~ Often I feel overwhelmed. Lots of decisions to make, lots of things need to get done, many things vying for my energy and attention. Sometimes I just shut down and process nothing. Sometimes I get flustered and frustrated and take it out on my people (but I don’t want to do that). Just one more layer to this recurring theme…abide, remain, focus my attention to YOU. When I’m overwhelmed? Call to You and You will answer me. Not sure what to do next? What is top priority? How to answer? What to decide? You can tell me. Your wisdom and guidance is what I need and it is available to me.
P~ I love how you speak to me in themes. Right now the loud and clear theme is to abide and remain…apart from You I can do NOTHING. And that’s OK. I need Your wisdom. I need You. I have access to You and that is such a comfort. Thank You. I love You!
Restoration | Carrie Newell
S~ Then this city will bring me joy, glory, and honor before all the nations of the earth! The people of the world will see the good I do for my people and will tremble with awe. Jeremiah 33:9 (NLT)
O~ A message from the Lord to the prophet Jeremiah. The Lord was getting ready to restore Jerusalem after the people had turned to sin and away from the Lord.
A~ I guess this hit me because of the story or restoration here. The city was doing its own thing, sinning against God. Yet, He doesn’t hold a grudge. He gives them consequences, then moves on. Sometimes I feel like I can’t let go of where I am. Not good enough. Too sick to matter. Too weak to make a difference. Grumpy. But God knows I can. I don’t need to be perfect- I just need to ask him to restore me, and He will gladly do so. I just have to get past my own self-punishment to see that he’s waiting for me with open arms.
P~ Father, thank you for never turning your back on me! Thank you that no matter where we are or where we’ve been you want to restore us! Father, help me to let go of all my insecurities and come running into your arms, ready for restoration!!! Amen.
