Trust | Luisa Penaherrera
S~ I know, Lord, that a person’s life is not his own. No one is able to plan his own course. So correct me, Lord, but please be gentle. Do not correct me in anger, for I would die. Jeremiah 10:23,24 (NLT)
O~ This is a reminder to me of my life being in God’s hands, and also a prayer of a heart open to God’s correction.
A~ In a way, this makes me think of the movie “Hunger Games”, the part where Katniss was getting close to the edge and the ones in charge placed deadly obstacles to get her to go a certain direction. I think you use things in our life for our good though (unlike the movie). So now when bad things happen in my life it reminds me to trust that you’re looking out for me and you have a plan that will bring good out of the bad.
P~ Thank you Heavenly Father for your rule over my life. I’m grateful for the wisdom and gentle guidance, love and care you give to me. Help me be obedient and trust you. I love you.
The Ugly Beast | Joni Tyner
S~ Then the beast was allowed to speak great blasphemies against God. (v5)
And he was given authority to do whatever he wanted for forty-two months (v5)
And the beast was allowed to wage war against God’s holy people (v7)
And he was given authority to rule over every tribe and people and language and nation. (v7) (Revelation 13, I underlined words to emphasize God allowed the beast to rule)
O~ Revelation 13 goes into great, horrific detail about Satan and his two powerful beasts who God allows to have power and some authority for a short time. According to my Bible commentary, this is the Antichrist.
A~ This is another chapter I’d rather skip, really. Still, God’s Word is written to instruct and warn us, I can’t just pick and choose scriptures that give me warm fuzzies. I think my application today is to realize that God does allow evil to prevail at times. I don’t understand that, but I choose to have faith that His ways are better than if Joni ruled the world. (I would definitely not allow terrorists and child molesters and dictators to exist.) What I see is that, on this side of Heaven, there is going to be evil, and during end times, it’s going to get A LOT worse. I want to stay grounded in my faith and understanding of the Bible so that I won’t be deceived by Satan’s schemes.
P~ Dear Lord, I pray for a great revival within Your people. Open our eyes to the lost and help us make sharing our faith with others a priority. I’m so thankful that You win in the end. You are Glorious and all powerful, Satan can never overcome You. I choose to worship You.
