S~ I will faithfully reward My people for their suffering and make an everlasting covenant with them. Isaiah 61:8 (NLT)

O~ God is speaking to us!  Isaiah 61 is all about good news for us 🙂

A~ As I head into my meeting today.  I’m wondering.  Feeling like I’m not sure where I need to be planted.  My pride says to defend myself and make the other person suffer.  You tell me in this verse, and for the last week, that I’m the one who is going to suffer.  I’m the one who is going to change.  And it’s  my opportunity to show love to this person.

P~ Father, may Your words be on my lips today: I am overwhelmed with joy in the Lord my God!  For He has dressed me with the clothing of salvation and draped in a robe of righteousness.  I am like a bride with her jewels.  Help to face this suffering and remove my pride!  In Jesus’ Name! Amen!

The Choice | Joni Tyner

S~ then I looked, and I heard a single eagle crying loudly as it few through the air, “terror, terror, terror to all who belong to this world because of what will happen when the last three angels blow their trumpets.”  Revelation 8:13  (NLT)

O~ Earlier in chapter 8, John describes the seven trumpets that will be blown. The first 4 trumpets are warnings to the earth; they destroy 1/3 of the  earth through hail, fire and blood.  1/3 of the sea life is also destroyed as is  water through bitterness.  The 4th trumpet darkens 1/3 of the sun, the moon and stars.

A~ This is some of the Scripture I like to avoid.  I love Jesus!!  I love people!! I DON’T like to think about the God I love destroying earth—still this is in scripture for a reason.  God wants us to see His unfailing love, BUT, BUT it is for His children, people who call upon Jesus as Lord.  There will be justice and consequences for those who choose to not believe.

My application is to continue to do what I first mentioned—love Jesus and love His people.  I don’t want anyone to endure the pain of this wrath;  this passage motivates me continue to be passionate for the things of God.  That means being a disciple and bringing more people into His Kingdom.

P~ Dear Lord, I pray today that as others read Revelation, they see the bigger picture—it is to choose You, to grow in their faith walk, to share with others.  It is all about choosing You.

I choose You.
