Stand Firm in What You Show Me | Luisa Penaherrera
S~ Unless your faith is firm, I cannot make you stand firm. Isaiah 7:9b (NLT)
O~ Two kings had allied to attack Jerusalem. When the news reached the king and people of Jerusalem, their hearts tremble with fear. God told the king, Ahaz not to fear these kings and that he had to learn to believe what he says if he wants him to protect him.
A~ I am working on boundaries and I have been sensing God’s direction, but it has to do with confrontation which is not comfortable for me. But if that is what you are showing me to do then I want to do it and stand firm in my faith and follow through. I believe you will help me through it.
P~ Thank you, Father for your presence, your guidance, and friends you have given me that I can share my struggles with, and their encouragement. Help me as I follow through with what you show me. I love you.
God’s Love | Todd Chipman
S~ We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. 1 John 4:16 (NLT)
O~ This verse is an essential verse for Christians. It tells us the source for love is God. The love God has shown us is through His son Jesus Christ. What God chose to do to remedy our sin was to send His only son as a sacrifice for our sins. This met our greatest need, which is the forgiveness of sin. God came and met us where we were and provided the path to himself. He didn’t need to do this, he wanted to do this to show us how much He loves us.
A~ Have you ever just met a need of someone and met them where they were because they couldn’t do something for themselves? Maybe you have helped out with a church project and painted a house for an elderly person who couldn’t do it for themselves. Maybe as a mother, you spent countless nights up with your child who was completely helpless. Maybe you took a mission trip out of your own money and spent your vacation time. You simply met someone where they were to meet a need without getting anything in return. That selfless devotion is the essence of love. This is one thing that agnostics and atheists can’t explain. Where does this love come from? Just a bunch of cells that evolved? This love comes from God and every human can experience it. We have to recognize that wonderful blessing that comes from selfless devotion as love, and we have to recognize where it comes from, so we can go back to God, since he is the source of love.
P~ Dearest Lord, your Word tells me that you are the source of love. I believe by faith in your son Jesus Christ, that you demonstrated the ultimate gift of love for me. My desire is to love others with the kind of selfless love only you can provide. Holy Spirit, fill me today afresh and anew. Help me to look on each person I cross paths with today with your love and mercy. May my words, attitude, and actions toward all only be filled with your love and mercy today and everyday. Amen
