His Glory | Kimi Miller
S~ Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than al we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21 (NIV)
O~ It’s all for His glory. All of it. In Mercy Me’s song “Flawless” Bart Millard sings “To take a filthy wretch like this, and wrap him up in righteousness, but that’s exactly what He did.” Why? So that the world would know Him and His power and His amazing love and grace.
A~ When I am obedient to God – He receives the glory. Who am I to withhold that from Him?
P~ Father, Forgive me of my disobedience. May I remember that if you call me to do something – it’s not about me or for my glory, but for yours I love you.
Live a Life Worthy | Kim Chipman
S~ Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Ephesians 4:2 (NIV)
O~ This is the instruction immediately following “I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received”
A~ My calling as a Christ follower is to be COMPLETELY humble and gentle. I. Am. Not.
In the verses before this I’m urged “to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” (3:18-19)
When I focus my heart and mind in a place of remembering both Your awesome sovereignty AND Your deep, abiding love for me then I have the necessary perspective to be completely humble and gentle. I don’t have to fake it, it is in my heart, flowing from You. Once I’m humble, patience and bearing with others also flows from You.
I can live out my calling when I remember Your amazing love.
When my mind wanders to other things or when I have knowledge without love then I’m a big, fat, hot mess.
P~ Lord, help me to be completely humble and gentle. Pride gets me every time. I love You!
