Your Strength | Kim Chipman

S~ David was now in great danger because all his men were very bitter about losing their sons and daughters, and they began to talk of stoning him. But David found strength in the Lord his God. 1 Samuel 30:6 (NLT)

O~ David and his men were out fighting and when they arrived home they found the Amalekites had made a raid, carried off the women and children, and burned the city to the ground. David’s soldiers became angry with David, and began to talk of stoning him.

A~ David’s response? He found strength in You. Sometimes it feels like enemy attack is all over the place trying to take me down – like David, I can find strength in You. Sometimes it feels like my own people want to stone me. Like David, I can find strength in You. Life has been overwhelming lately – here I sit, to find strength in You. Like David I want to choose: not to blame, not fear, not ignoring problems, not running away, not being angry or bitter, not doubting myself, not unforgiveness…when people/circumstances/LIFE seems to be against me…I want to make the choice to find strength in You.

As a matter of fact, I want to choose to find my strength in You when things are smooth sailing and pretty good, too. My strength and my way are no match for Your perfect presence.

P~ Lord, help me to choose You. Help my heart and mind to meditate on Your truth regardless of my circumstances. Help me to remember how much I need You and I can find strength in You. I love You!

My Constant Prayer | Kelley Deases

S~  May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. 2 Corinthians 13:14 (NIV)

O~ In this final verse of the chapter, Paul’s last words in his second and final letter to the Corinthian church, he leaves them with this sentiment. I have heard these same words delivered as a benediction at the end of many a church service.

A~  This is (or should be) my prayer for myself and for everyone I meet, that they, and I, would experience the grace of Christ, the love of the Father, and fellowship of the Spirit. I desire to go deeper in each respect in my own life but also to encourage growth and spiritual maturity in those God has put on my path.

P~  Father, In this week of wedding details, mother-in-law’s health crisis and preparing to sell a home and move, help my heart to rise above and see myself and others with Your eyes — to truly know Your grace, love, and sweet fellowship.

Our team would love the privilege of praying for you! Please share how we can lift you in prayer at prayer@DiscoverOneThing.com
