HELP! | Kim Chipman
S~ May the Lord judge between you and me. And may the Lord avenge the wrongs you have done to me, but my hand will not touch you. 1 Samuel 24:12 (NIV)
O~ Saul was trying to kill David. David had the opportunity to hurt or kill Saul, but he respected his position as king and respected God as the ultimate authority.
A~ There are people who wrong me, but I really need to be inspired by David’s heart here. No matter what Saul did, or had the potential to do, David would not take revenge to protect himself. He trusted You could handle that.
I don’t deal well when I feel criticized or made fun of, especially by people I really care about and respect. I need to remember they are Your beloved children, too, and allow You to be God. No matter what others do I need to be steadfast in what I do.
P~ This is so hard for me, please help! I need Your strength, power and guidance. I love You!
Let God be the Judge | Kelley DeAses
S~ May the Lord judge between you and me. 1 Samuel 24:12a (NIV)
O~ Just prior to speaking these words, David had a prime opportunity before him. King Saul, who by now was half mad from jealousy and paranoia and had made multiple attempts on young David’s life, had entered a cave where David and his men were entrenched. David not only had the chance, but was encouraged by his men, to kill Saul right then and there. But he didn’t. He confronted his once-mentor, now-tormentor, with these words: “May the Lord judge between you and me.” David was content to leave his very life in God’s hands and not try to manipulate the outcome.
A~ On the day I am writing this, I am waiting. Waiting to find out whether I will be offered a job I interviewed for last week. As much as I fall into the trap of sizing up the competition, analyzing (and re-analyzing) my written and oral responses, and trying to imagine my future in this position, I always come back to this: God is sovereign over this …and my whole life. He knows who will be chosen and will continue to have His hand upon my life whether in this capacity or not.
P~ Father, In my heart I desire to fully submit to Your perfect will and let You be the judge between the candidates for this job. You want what’s best for Your people and I can put my ultimate trust in Your perfect plan.
