Trust | Marisa Tomlinson
S~ Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you. Psalms 9:10 (NIV)
O~ If you seek God, you will find Him.
A~ When I focus on Him, my trust deepens. When our worlds start going haywire, which they always do, having that trust is an anchor. Focus is all about intention. Intention is “a wish that one means to carry out.” (dictionary.com) It is my wish and plan to keep my life centered in His will. Staying focused on Him is a challenge sometimes though. I’m so easily drawn into the drama that pops up and it DRIVES ME NUTS! Staying anchored in Him really does make things smoother and easier, so why is it so easy to focus on self?
P~ Father, thank you for holding me close, even when I pull away. Lord, I want to fix my eyes on You always. Keep my mind and heart guarded and safe in You. I trust in You. I praise You. I love You.
Removing the Veil | Joni Tyner
S~ But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 2 Corinthians 3:16 (NLT)
O~ Paul is teaching in chapter 3 about God’s glory. He refers to Moses coming down from Mount Sinai with the ten commandments. Moses had to hide his face because it was glowing from seeing God. Paul is teaching that once we believe in Jesus, we too can see His glory—and then reflect His glory to others ( see 2 cor. 3:18)
A~ It can be frustrating sometimes to be excited about something God is doing in my life and then realize the nonbeliever completely doesn’t “get it”. In chapter 4:4, Paul reminds us that Satan has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. I think this verse helps me expect this and be less critical of people who don’t “get” God. My role should be to help them remove the veil, not be critical of their behavior. I need to realize this is usually a process and not an overnight transformation.
P~ Dear Lord, give me increased sensitivity and patience when I people I encounter don’t see You the way I see You. Please give me insight, words, and actions that help them remove the veil so that can begin to see You and reflect Your glory.
