My prayer | Nikki Metzger

S~ Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my sighing.  Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to You I pray.  In the morning, O Lord, You hear my voice; in morning I lay my requests before You and wait in expectation. Psalm 5:1-3 (NIV)

O/A/P~ Please help me find the emotions that have been controlling me.  Please name them to me.  I don’t want my life to be ruled by actions and words that are driven by emotions.  Create in me a clean heart, O God!  And help me choose transformation over stagnation!  In Jesus’ Name I pray!

Waiting Expectantly | Luisa Penaherrera

S~ Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord.  Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly.  Psalm 5:3 (NLT)

O~ This verse reminds me it is a continuous relationship.  Like the manna He provided, He gave just what they needed for that day and then the next day there was more for that day.

A~ God wants me to know that He is there and will always be.  He will provide what I need for the moment.  I need to trust that He will continue to be there and show up when I need him (expecting).  I don’t need to fear of lack, not having enough.

P~ Father, I love you.  Thank you. ❤

Don’t fret. Jesus is coming | Deanna George

S~ I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. John 14:18 (NIV)

O~ He will not abandon me. He will not give up on me. He will not decide that I am “hopeless.” He will come to me!

A~ Life can throw me all kind of challenges. Those challenges can bring me doubt, worry, and heartache. They can also keep me from seeking God and his Word, but that doesn’t mean Jesus is going to abandon me. He is going to meet me at the exact spot I am at. Through the Holy Spirit, he is going to encourage me to get back into the Bible and to pray. He wants me to know he is here. He wants me to know and feel his presence during the good and the bad. I need to remember that he will not abandon me because I get busy, or I get scared of what his answer might be if I include him. He will come!!

P~ Lord Jesus, thank you for promising to stick around. There are times when I am just lazy. There are times when I let life get in the way. There are times when I don’t want to be convicted of how bad my attitude is, so I choose not to spend time with you. Even though I have days when I abandon you, you still come to me. Thank you for the reminders, especially on those days that I don’t meet you in prayer and in the Bible, that are present in my life. I love the close parking spots on rainy days, the reminder that I have to do something that I forgot about, or one of my boys say or do something that I needed to hear or see at that moment. It makes you feel so real and near to me. There is no better feeling than doing life with you by my side.

Our team would love the privilege of praying for you! Please share how we can lift you in prayer at prayer@DiscoverOneThing.com
