Jesus Wept | Kim Chipman

S~ When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. John 11:33 (NIV)

O~ Lazarus, brother of Mary and Martha, got sick and died. Earlier Jesus said (v4) “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.” Yet Lazarus did die, and Mary and her friends were very sad. Jesus was deeply moved. He had compassion for their pain and grief.

A~ Right now my daughter is fighting back an arthritis flare. She is 12 and has had systemic arthritis since she was 5. I truly believe that You can heal her at any time. I also believe that as long as she is battling this disease it has purpose – so that You may be glorified through it. I hate it, but I trust You.

This verse today gives me comfort that You are here with me. I have cried a river as I’ve watched her struggle. Even when You knew the outcome for Lazarus would be that You would raise him from the dead You still had compassion and wept with Mary. You empathized with her grief. I feel You right alongside me in my sadness. I’m sad for my sweet girl who doesn’t want to stop doing the things she loves because of an arthritis flare. I’m calling all my prayer warriors to pray it away, believing You can heal her!

P~ Lord, PLEASE. Hear our prayers and heal my sweet girl. I know You can. But even if You don’t I will love You and follow You and worship You. Thank You for weeping with me. I love You!

Jesus Knows! | Deanna George

S~ Jesus wept. John 11:35 (NIV)

O~ Jesus was human! Jesus had emotions just like us. Jesus had to endure living on earth.

A~ Jesus experienced love, joy, heartache, persecution, and frustration. Our Savior knows what we are going through! My heart is so full knowing that I can’t have a problem that he can’t handle. He paid such a heavy price so that I may survive and thrive while I am on this planet. God is a Savior that I can never say “doesn’t understand.” He also provided the Bible for me too! The Bible tells me he knows, he understands, and he is capable of helping and guiding me through this life.

P~ Lord Jesus, thank you! I’m so thankful that you were willing to pay the price so that you could save us. Thank you for experiencing emotions, heartache, and frustration just like I do. I appreciate you knowing exactly what I’m going through!

Believing Eyes | Kelley Deases

S~ Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” John 11:40 (NIV)

O~ Sometimes it is not so much that, “Seeing is believing,” as that it takes believing in order to see God moving in big ways and small ways, in the world and in our lives. Without believing eyes, we will miss seeing God’s careful orchestration of events, chalking it up to mere coincidence or chance.

A~ I just finished reading the over 1,000-page Heaven Trilogy, by Ted Dekker. In all three novels, we get to see the forces of good and evil played out within human hearts and on a global stage. It was a good reminder of how this is really occurring in the world around us; we just needs eyes to see it.

I have particularly relished seeing God’s hand guiding and directing me in my career path. Beginning two decades ago, He positioned in a place that would be ideal for when I became a single mother (of course, unbeknowst to me that would be in store for me). Years later, He nudged me to step away from that position, even though I loved it and was good at it, to devote myself more to my home and husband and sons. For a short season, He led to me a church, where I would get a taste of Kingdom-centered employment before He closed that door. I now know He brought me to Heartland Hope Mission at this time in my life for a reason and for my good. I have complete trust the steps which led me to this current position have been Divinely ordered.

P~ Father, Thank You for developing my vision to be able to see beyond what is on the surface and how You are orchestrating it all for Your purposes and our good.

Our team would love the privilege of praying for you! Please share how we can lift you in prayer at prayer@DiscoverOneThing.com
