One Amazing Sacrifice | Michelle Myers

S~ For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 1 Peter 1:18 (NIV)

O~ I think that this is amazing!  You………someone who was perfect………suffered a horrible death……….so You could save me…….someone who didn’t deserve it.  Seriously, what more can I say?  “Thanks”, doesn’t seem to cut it.

A~ I am understanding how important the condition of my heart is, in everything I do.  You made this amazing sacrifice for me, and I know that if I am not paying close attention, I can take that for granted in my heart.  Heck, I know that there are times when I am paying close attention, and my flesh fights with what my heart knows is right.

P~ I am thankful for You and Your sacrifice.  Yet, saying it isn’t enough.  LORD, please help me slow down, so I can BE a better example.  LORD, please help me be more disciplined, so I can take better care of my health, not sin with my mouth, and stay connected to You throughout the day.  The best way for me to show my gratitude, is by living a life that is as worthy as it can be, of the sacrifice You made for me.

No Words, Just Do | Kim Chipman

S~  Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won overwithout words by the behavior of their wives, 1 Peter 3:1 (NIV)

O~ I’m aware this is directed at wives, but I feel like elements of it it are for me in each role I have in my life – wife, mom, friend, daughter…

A~ While I’ve read this verse hundreds of times, what stands out to me today is “without words”

I have a husband and kids who appear to tune out (most of) my words. The more I speak, the less they hear. They certainly see the good, bad and ugly about me. SAYing I believe something isn’t as effective as SHOWing it.

When it comes to people in my world I can’t help but notice that talking ABOUT You is much less effective than just acting LIKE You.

Without words.

P~ Lord, I’m a talker – You know that! Help me to edit my words and allow my life to speak. I love You!
