Reverent Submission | Kim Chipman
S~ During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. Hebrews 5:7 (NIV)
O~ JESUS offered prayers with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save HIM from death!! Jesus! Son of God! Fully God, fully man and HE was praying to the Father! And he was heard because of His reverent submission.
A~ I just got a prayer life reality check. Jesus…JESUS fervently praying and crying tears…Did the Father hear Him because He was His Son? No, He was heard because of His reverent submission. Do I have a prayer life that looks like that? No. When I look at my heart do I see reverent submission? Ummmm…sometimes? Seriously. This is painful.
P~ You are my perfect example. Help me to look more like You. Help me to take the condition of my heart seriously, like You did. Help me to fervently pray. Help me to live a life of reverent submission. Help me to live like Jesus. I love You!
