Be Obedient | Trisha Baker
S~ “Because no has hired us,” they answered. “He said to them, “You also go and work in my vineyard.” Matthew 20:7 (NIV)
O~ There are so many people in today’s world who are lost, because they feel like no one wants them. It is our job to show them that someone does want them. It is our job to show them that they have a purpose, and they are loved by Jesus more than they ever thought possible. But it is also our job to go find them, because they don’t know where to go. They are standing on the sidelines of life waiting for someone to come tell them they have a purpose and their life can have meaning. These people feel that they have no purpose because “no one has hired them and given them a job to do”, but Jesus wants them to know they have a purpose and they can do amazing things and He can do amazing things for them and through them.
A~ There have been many times that I have heard the Lord tell me to go and speak something to someone. Very often it is just the simple words, “Did you know you are important?” But many times I didn’t because I felt dumb doing it. For days afterwards, I would feel horrible because maybe those simple words would have completely changed someone’s life. I have to be obedient, and listen to voice of the Lord when he tells me to speak to the ones that He loves but they don’t know yet that He loves them. Sometimes, the person I am supposed to talk to is not a stranger but a dear friend, and still I won’t because how I think it will be received. I have to learn that if the Lord is telling me to speak to someone; He will take care of the outcome. I just have to be obedient.
P~ Lord, help me to obedient to your voice. I know that I hear your voice, but often I put my own fears in front of what you are telling me to do. Strengthen my faith Lord, and help me to know that you have got this. That if I just obey, you will take care of the rest. There are so many people in this world, that just need to know they have a purpose and that someone loves them. Help me Lord today, to share with someone that you do love them. Help me Lord to be example of the way you reached out to people when you walked on this earth. I think you Father that every morning when I wake up, you’ve got this. I just need to trust and be obedient when I hear your voice. Thank you Lord for your protection today and your grace for me in all that I do.
In your precious name, Amen.
Move Mountain! | Luisa Penaherrera
S~ Then Jesus told them, “I assure you, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, ‘May God lift you up and throw you into the sea,’ and it will happen. Matthew 21:21 (NLT)
O~ Faith in God…can move mountains.
A~ I need to ask God to move these mountains in my life and have faith that he can move them.
P~ Father, thank you.
God wants all of my mind! | Deanna George
S~ Jesus replied: ” ‘ Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ Matthew 22:37 (NIV)
O~ This is Jesus’ response to a Pharisee asking what is the greatest commandment in the Law. It is the first and greatest commandment (Matthew 22:38).
A~ Jesus makes it extremely clear on how I am to love God. I’m to love him with all my heart, soul, AND mind. My heart loves God so much, but I wish I could say that my mind is always there too. I allow myself to get caught up in my to do list, working out, or taking “me” time before I bring Jesus first and center in my day. When I choose the “other” stuff, I am not loving God with my mind. I have delegated him to a lower priority on my to do list. How can I keep God an active participant in my mind, my day, and my activities if I have not included him from the beginning? God wants to be there in the little things just as much as the big things. Loving him with all my mind begins when I wake up until I go to sleep. I can start my day in prayer, which will help me focus my mind on him throughout the day. He is my friend who wants to spend time with me, and it’s my choice to include him all day long. Life is so much sweeter with a good friend, so I am choosing to love God with all my mind!
P~ Lord Jesus, I am so sorry that I fail at loving you with all of my mind. I ask for forgiveness for getting caught up in shows that you have made clear that I am not to watch, for making exercise more important than spending time with you, or just getting frustrated with daily tasks of life. I love you with my whole heart and soul, and I am going to try my hardest to keep my mind focused on you. Please help me by keeping my mind centered on you throughout the day. Thank you for loving me and wanting to be a part of my life!
