Truth | Michelle Myers
S~ Forgive and treat each person as he should be treated because you know what is in a person’s heart. Only you know what is in everyone’s heart. 1 Kings 8:39 (NCV)
O~ Only God knows our true feelings and motives.
A~ As a human being, my heart and motives are not ALWAYS right. However, there have been many times that my motives and heart have been in the right place….I really did want to help. I really did care. I really did want to see someone in a better place…Yet, because I could not do what they wanted, the way they wanted, or give them the outcome they desired; I was accused of being wrong in some way. It was confusing, until God showed me that it was not my heart and motives that were truly wrong, it was theirs.
P~ Thank you God for your wisdom, especially in regards to people. People confuse me. They are often like trying to figure out a puzzle. Once YOU peel back the layers and expose their backgrounds, their character deficits, their “secretive” thoughts and behaviors and their motives; I am more capable of putting the pieces together and making better choices in regards to boundaries, how to relate to them, etc. In doing this, YOU also show me where my motives, thinking, and actions are either right or wrong. Please just keep peeling back the layers and exposing truth.
Give Us The Desire | Luisa Penaherrera
S~ May he give us the desire to do his will in everything… 1 Kings 8:58 (NLT)
O~ We are not able to do it alone, but we have a choice to make.
A & P~ This is my prayer for the Penaherrera family
Dear God I ask that you give our family, my husband and me, our children, the desire to do your will in everything. In Jesus’ name. Amen
All the Congregation | Jill Terry
S~ And King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel who were assembled with him before the ark, were sacrificing so many sheep and oxen that they could not be counted or numbered. 2 Chronicles 5:6 (NAS)
O/A~ There is that word ALL again. All of the congregation were giving sacrifices. So much was sacrificed they could not keep track.
All not some but ALL the congregation was giving sacrifices. Amazing.
I cannot even fathom what it would look like and what the outcome would be if “ ALL” gave until it hurt. The sheer amount of people that could be helped would be astonishing if “ALL” brought their sacrifice to the church. I know Christians do not give animal sacrifices but we can sacrifice money and time. The world we live in would truly be a different place if we “ALL” stepped up and did our part for the Kingdom of God.
P~ Lord, thank you for Your Word and for speaking to me today. Amen
Conscious of Sin | Kelley DeAses
S~ Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather through the law we become conscious of sin. Romans 3:20 (NIV)
O~ If we are justified not by adherence to the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ, then why do we still need the law? For one thing, to remind us how we fall pitifully short so that we might keep a right perspective on our own depravity in contrast to God’s holiness and thus ever be aware of our need for a Savior.
A~ A young lady recently joined a Bible study I facilitate in my home. She describes how she was very rebellious and misguided in her youth, but now seems very open and sincere in her desire to follow God’s plan for her life. As she continued to share, we soon realized there are some glaring areas of sin she has embraced which are obvious to the mature believers in our circle but about which she seems oblivious. Our approach has not been to point out these indiscretions or judge her in any way. We simply and lovingly accept her where she is into our number, try to answer any questions she raises, and encourage her in her brand new practice of reading The Word. I am confident that as she continues to seek after God and fellowship with His people, the Holy Spirit will begin to work in her life to reveal truth and guide her in making better choices. As He does with all of us.
P~ Father, Thank You for not leaving any of us in the found You found us in, but for calling us to something better suited a Child of the King.
Our team would love the privilege of praying for you! Please share how we can lift you in prayer at DiscoverOneThingPrayer@gmail.com
